Louis Koo is keeping mum over recent reports about the salaries of “Back to the Past” stars that circulated online recently.

The actor, who is also one of the producers of the movie, was said to have not taken any salary for his role as Hong Siu Lung in the movie and instead rely on the box office takings.

When asked about it at the celebratory banquet attended by the cast of the movie, Louis responded, “On behalf of my company, I want to reiterate that we cannot disclose anything involving company trade secrets.”

“Filming every movie is difficult. Every actor puts in effort. I did what I was supposed to do. The hardship doesn’t matter; what matters is that the audience likes it. I hope the box office will be profitable and improve the atmosphere of the film industry,” he said.

His co-star Raymond Lam also laughed off the idea that he was paid HKD 2 million for the movie, saying, “Does everyone believe that? I will only believe it if it’s officially announced.”

Stressing that he wasn’t paid a high remuneration, Raymond stressed that getting a good film was the most important thing.
