Gina Jin (aka Jin Chen) has recently addressed rumours of her starring in a new drama opposite Johnny Huang, which many of her fans are not happy with and calling it “a bad project”.
In a livestream on 14 January, the actress spoke to her fans about the rumour, saying that they should not worry and just wait and see.
“I haven’t taken on any bad dramas, have I? They’re all pretty good. Even if they are bad, so what? If it’s not done well, couldn’t it be made worse anyway? Don’t worry,” she said.
Gina added that she doesn’t believe in the notion of a “bad project”.
“Once it comes to me, it’s a good project. When it gets to us, the luck turns good too. Don’t worry. Just trust my choices, okay?” she added.
It was reported that the two stars will be working on a 32-episode drama called “Ming Chuan You Zhi Xia,” adapted from the novel by Su Xing’an, “Unwilling to Quietly Like You”.
The rumours have sparked backlash from the fandoms of both actors, with Johnny’s fans demanding a change of female lead, while Gina’s fans believe that the drama is using her popularity to boost viewership.
