Song Ningfeng surprised many recently by admitting to his extramarital affair, and announced suspension of his acting work.
On 1 April, the actor posted a lengthy apology on Weibo, stating that he hadn’t dared to check his phone during this period and said he would take full responsibility for any future leaks of recordings or content.
Stressing that it was all his fault, he also admitted that his past inappropriate remarks indeed stemmed from his selfish and cowardly side.
The controversy sparked after several audio recordings and chat logs with a woman named Ms Q were leaked online, which revealed an affair that had lasted over a year since 2025.
As for the backlash regarding his supposed intimate moment with Ms Q while five-year-old daughter Anna was nearby, Song denied this, saying that the child was asleep in the other room and didn’t see or hear anything. However, he admitted that he had failed as a father.
At the end of his post, Song Ningfeng announced, “Starting today, I am officially suspending all entertainment work indefinitely.”
He stated that he would seek help from a psychologist and fully cooperate with any decisions his wife might make. He also pleaded with the public to stop harassing and excessively focusing on his family.
Song and wife Zhang Wanting previously became viral after joining the second season of “See You Again,” which is a show about couples working through their marital woes.
