Luo Yunxi’s camp has now threatened legal action following the illegal use of the actor’s image to promote a short drama series.
The whole issue sparked after netizens noticed that a vertical short drama that is currently available on multiple platforms has a male lead that looks identical to Luo, particularly his style in his previous series, “Till the End of the Moon”.
After checking with AI software like DeepSeek, the results unanimously identify him as Luo Yunxi.
On 26 January, Luo Yunxi Studio released a statement that read, “Recently, a certain online short drama platform is suspected of unauthorised use of Mr. Luo Yunxi’s image to create, produce, and publicly distribute a short drama series. This behaviour is suspected of seriously infringing upon Mr. Luo Yunxi’s portrait rights and related legal rights.”
“We take this matter very seriously and have immediately initiated rights protection work. Currently, we have completed the evidence collection and preservation work regarding the allegedly infringing content of the online short drama and are making a formal protest to the relevant platform, demanding that it cease all infringing activities,” they added.
