Jun Ji-hyun is currently facing a setback following the controversy surrounding her Disney+ series, “Tempest”, as ads featuring her have now been dropped from multiple big named brands.

The actress recently sparked backlash in China after her character in episode four of the show – a former UN official turned presidential candidate – asked, ‘Why would China prefer war? That way, nuclear bombs would fall along the border areas.’

Many slammed the script, with one Chinese netizen claiming that South Korea will no longer be a country if China ever favours war.

The backlash came after the show angered netizens previously for depicting Dalian as a rundown city.

As of now, it was reported that Jun has been removed from the advertisements from brands like Louis Vuitton, Piaget, and La Mer from their Sina Weibo accounts.

It is estimated that she has lost at least RMB 230 million yuan from it.

The incident has been going on for many days, but Jun Ji-hyun and her agency still have not issued any statement, and have only quietly turned off the comment function on their social media accounts.
