Shaun Tam recently revealed that he has no plans to stop his son from following in his footsteps as an actor, if that’s what the boy wants in life.
The actor, who is a father of two including son Rex, said that he will not tell his son to join the showbiz industry just because his dad and granddad Ti Lung are a part of it.
“Acting is hard work, and of course I don’t want him to suffer. Just like how my dad didn’t want me to go through the same hardships when I started,” he said.
Shaun also joked that he was once told by someone that he has the most handsome father and the most good-looking son.
The actor light heartedly added, “I’m definitely the least good-looking one in the family, but I’m still happy, because I have a handsome dad and a handsome son!”
He also admitted that he is still often referred to as “Ti Lung’s son” but that he doesn’t mind it anymore.
“As long as people remember me, that’s already good. Better than being forgotten,” he said with a laugh. “Honestly, it doesn’t bother me. Many people who knew my dad back in the day are already getting older. Nowadays, it’s kind of flipped. Some younger people don’t recognize my dad and instead refer to him as ‘Shaun Tam’s father.’”
