Following Hong Kong tennis star Coleman Wong’s confirmation of their breakup, Constance Chan finally addressed the end of their short-lived romance in an interview.
The 22-year-old singer, who is also the daughter of Eason Chan and Hilary Tsui, revealed that the decision to break up was mutual on both parties, but that she would rather not comment on the specific reasons and details.
“We have been focusing on our work and will not comment on the specific reasons for the breakup. It’s a matter between the two of us, please give us some space,” she said.
Constance also said that her parents had always been supportive of her.
Although the two have broken up and unfollowed each other on social media, the singer still liked reports about Coleman’s good results at the Asian Games. She explained that she just happened to see the news and felt happy for him because he had brought glory to Hong Kong, and wished him continued success.
As to what she thinks of Coleman’s decision to announce the breakup first, Constance said that everybody has their freedom to do what they want, especially since they never actually announced their previous relationship publicly.
“We did not make any special agreement on when to announce the breakup together,” she added.
