Lisa Ch’ng has laughed off the notion of a conflict between her twin sister Mona and older sibling Jacquelin Ch’ng over the issue concerning their mother’s passing.
The model-actress, who sat down for an interview recently along with husband Mat Yeung, was asked about the previous issue, which stemmed from Mona supposedly criticising Jacquelin on social media for allegedly using their late mother to attract attention and gain online traffic.
It all started when Jacquelin went on the TVB metaphysics show “War of Diviners.” A contestant named Angel, who claimed to relay messages from their late mother, Datin Kong Yok Chu, stated that their mother supposedly experienced pain before her death and apologised to Jacquelin for leaving her to care for her younger siblings.
Following the show, Mona posted a long message online, and stressed that their mother passed away very peacefully. She also refuted the suggestion that Jacquelin had been responsible for caring for her younger siblings, as they grew up with domestic helpers and were largely independent.
In response to the issue, Lisa said that there was nothing serious about the so-called conflict, and that it is a normal thing for siblings to have disagreements.
“Everybody has different ways of handling things and different opinions,” she said, adding that such misunderstandings could be resolved through communication.
When asked whether she had ever found herself caught between her two sisters and acted as a peacemaker, Lisa responded, “I was never caught in the middle because, as far as I’m concerned, there is no problem between them in the first place. There is no need for anyone to step in and mediate.”
She also joked that the three sisters had always argued while growing up and had even fought physically before, but there had never been any serious issues between them.
