Rapper T.O.P, formerly of BIGBANG, has personally apologised nearly three weeks after a fan site that had supported him for nearly 20 years ceased operations.

On 1 November, the performer, real name Choi Seung-hyun, posted a long message on his social media, saying, “I want to convey my sincere feelings to the management team of Choiseunghyun.com who have been with me for the past 20 long years.”

“Even in moments when it was difficult for me to believe in myself, you believed in me and gave me the strength to make music again through your warm hearts and precious support. I will never forget the time, effort, and precious sincerity you poured into me,” he added.

Regarding the reason for the delay in making a statement, he said that he needed time to convey his feelings because he felt that he needed to be careful with every word he said amidst various circumstances.

“The management team of Choiseunghyun.com has shown me devoted love for a longer time than anyone else and has been a great pillar of support,” he said, adding, “I hope that even the precious years we spent together do not remain as misunderstandings or cause hurt to each other.”

Finally, T.O.P expressed, “I sincerely apologise to the management of ChoiSeungHyun.com and the fans who have been misunderstood and hurt because of me.”

Choiseunghyun.com officially announced the end of its operations on 9 October. It was a prominent fan site that had supported T.O.P for approximately 20 years since opening in August 2006.

At the time, the management team vented their accumulated resentment, pointing out the lack of communication and evasion of responsibility by T.O.P and his agency TOPSPOT PICTURES. In particular, they publicly delivered harsh criticism, stating, “We hope you will let go of the arrogance of assuming that fans will take care of everything on their own.”
