Jay Chou’s camp has recently dismissed rumours that the singer-songwriter has bought a mansion in Melbourne through his father-in-law, Patrick Quinlivan.

The whole issue was sparked after Australian media reported that the Taiwanese musician and his Australian-Taiwanese wife were linked to a possible purchase of a mansion listed with a selling price of between AUD 45.5 million and AUD 50 million.

The mansion is a 1920s seven-bedroom house on a 3500sq metre lot, which also features a swimming pool, a reception hall and nine bathrooms. It was reported that records show that the property transfer was finalised on 22 April and was registered in the name of Hannah’s father.

In response, JVR Music stated, “Jay Chou and Hannah Quinlivan have always lived in Taipei, and they spend most of their time there. Some of Hannah Quinlivan’s family members live in Australia, so the two often travel between the two places. They have no plans to buy property in Australia.”

Regarding the property supposedly being registered under Hannah’s father’s name, JVR Music stated, “The company is not in a position to inquire about matters concerning Hannah Quinlivan’s family.”

Meanwhile, Hannah’s agent echoed a similar statement, saying, “The couple’s primary residence has always been in Taipei, and they have no plans to purchase property in Australia.”
