Timmy Hung has recently dismissed rumours of a “special miracle medicine” that father Sammo Hung has reportedly taken for health purposes.
In a recent appearance on the YouTube show, “Celebuzz HK,” the actor addressed the rumour, which sparked after the veteran star was seen looking much healthier and standing in a Douyin video, unlike reports about his mobility issues.
Said Timmy, “Some people aren’t just talking about my father, but also about Jet Li… In fact, there’s a lot of speculations online. People talking about various ‘treatments’ though actually, there aren’t any.”
Timmy said that Sammo did accumulate a lot of ailments throughout the years of doing stunt work, and that it had made it difficult for him to move around.
But as to why he wasn’t using a wheelchair or a walking stick in the Douyin videos, he said, “Because when you’re in front of the camera, you wouldn’t want to appear in a wheelchair.”
“Everyone needs to understand that after so many years of work and action roles, and being heavier, all the pressure is on his knees. It’s bone rubbing against bone, and it’s very painful to walk, so that’s why he chooses to sit,” he added.
