After surprising many with the revelation that she and Huang Zitao have been parents for the past two years, Xu Yiyang recently took to social media to address several speculations regarding their child.
On 16 October, the singer took to livestream to explain everything, denying that their son was born via surrogacy. She said that she actually gave birth to their son in 2024 via C-section. However, she said that the scar is so small that it’s not even visible when she wears a bikini.
She revealed that her husband actually had wanted to share the good news following the birth, but that she asked him not to as she was battling postpartum changes.
Xu said that she only decided to share the good news now, as her physical and mental state have gradually improved.
As for allegations that her son was born in the United States, she responded, “We are both Chinese, and our child is also Chinese,” adding that their child will live and receive education in China.
Xu and Tao set tongues wagging back on 15 October, after the former shared a series of beach photos on social media, the last of which was a picture of the two of them holding hands with a young child.
It is noted that there had been rumours of pregnancy before. After the two publicly acknowledged their relationship in July 2024, Tao was photographed at an OBGYN clinic in Los Angeles the following month, and Xu Yiyang was photographed looking at cribs and baby shoes in a furniture store in December of the same year.
