Raymond Wong Ho Yin recently admitted that filming his new ViuTV series, “Games of Two Halves” truly reminded him of the time he struggled financially in the early 2010s.

The actor, who attended the press conference for the series, recalled the time he was diagnosed with Behcet Disease, forcing him to withdraw from TVB drama “Captain of Destiny”, which was then given to fellow actor, Tony Hung.

Revealing that he went nine months without work, Raymond admitted that it was one of the lowest points in his life.

And now, with the film industry experiencing a downturn, Raymond admitted that he is facing another difficult period.

“Compared to back then, this is even more serious because now I have two kids to support,” he said. “I have to face it positively, invest in self-improvement. I’m learning to sing and keeping up with exercise. I don’t want to let myself fall into despair. The tougher the times, the more I need to stay strong.”

At the same time, he is thankful for being a part of the golden era of TV and films in the past, as he was able to take every job he can for his future.

“I never turned down work. My only fear was falling ill and delaying production,” he added.

In the drama, Raymond plays the role of a businessman who filed for bankruptcy after being scammed into losing his personal and company accounts and owing millions of dollars.
