Aaron Kwok was recently named “China–Italy Cultural Ambassador” at the Venice International Film Festival.

During the festival, a special “Chinese-Language Film Exchange” segment was introduced to mark the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Italy. Aaron was specially honoured with the title in recognition of his outstanding achievements in the art of cinema and his contributions to promoting cultural exchange between the two countries.

The honour was presented by Mr. Roberto Stabile, the Head of Internationalization at Cinecittà.

Upon receiving the title, Aaron expressed, “It is a great honour to be recognised in this way. I will continue to work hard to promote Chinese-language cinema and pursue diverse international collaborations, bringing more outstanding works to global platforms like Venice.”

A trailer for Aaron’s latest film, “IOU”, was also screened at the exchange event. He later attended the red carpet premiere of the film “The Sun Rises on Us All” as a special guest, engaging warmly with the cast that include Zhang Songwen, Xin Zhilei, Feng Shaofeng and director Cai Shangjun.

“I sincerely hope that in the future, more excellent Chinese-language films can shine brightly on international stages like this,” the actor added.
