Former child star Ji Zihan recently announced that she is now attending the Beijing Central Academy of Drama, after failing the exam to join the prestigious Beijing Film Academy.

The 19-year-old actress, who is known for playing Princess Wen Yi in “Legend of Zhen Huan” and Zhao Wei’s daughter Qian Qian in “Tiger Mom,” shared the news on Weibo on 6 September, saying that she has passed the admission examination for the International Department of the Central Academy of Drama and has successfully enrolled.

“As for not being admitted to the Beijing Film Academy, I have never publicly addressed it directly. That’s because after the examination, I spent a long period blaming myself and having self-doubt. I always felt that I had let down friends and family members who cared about and loved me, and that I had made everyone worry,” she wrote.

Ji said that after the exams, she and her family discussed on whether she should take the regular admission route or retake the exam.

“In the end, we decided that I would attend the International Department of the Central Academy of Drama. It has also always been one of my dream schools,” she added.

The actress stated that while she understands that some people may not agree with the path she has taken, she is also grateful for the support she received from fans.

“I’d also like to share a sentence that I’ve particularly liked recently. ‘Scores may differ, but there is no hierarchy in life; our paths may vary, but everyone can journey toward the stars’,” she added.
