It was recently reported that Lin Chi-ling is set to become one of the directors of the Taiwan Creative Content Agency (TAICCA).
The news was confirmed by the Taiwan Creative Content Agency (TAICCA) on 13 May, stating that three individuals have been appointed new directors, including actress-model Lin Chi-ling, producer Liu Szu-ming, and Golden Horse Award winner Chen Hsiang-chi.
In a press release, the TAICCA mentioned that the three directors have deep expertise in popular culture, cross-media technology, and art films, respectively, and each possesses rich industry experience and international vision.
It stated that the three will inject diverse professional perspectives into the board of directors and assist the TAICCA in deepening the industrialisation and internationalisation of Taiwan’s cultural content.
However, following the announcement, an old Lin Chi-ling social media repost during China’s National Day celebrations in 2023, along with comments such as “Beautiful China, prosperous times,” has sparked controversy regarding her qualifications.
In response, a rep of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) responded that whether someone is suitable to serve on the board is a matter for the relevant authorities to determine.
