Show Lo recently had to post a photo on social media just to show he is pretty alive and well following a death hoax.
The whole issue sparked after a netizen claimed the singer had passed away on 13 April, saying, “Show Lo died suddenly at home today. It was too late when he was found. His manager rushed him to the hospital, but he was pronounced dead.”
The netizen continued, “His manager said: ‘It is with great regret that we receive this news. Show Lo has definitely left us.'”
The news caused panic among fans, who were unsure of its validity. The post received over 4.5 million views.
Show’s manager immediately clarified to the media on 14 April, stating simply, “He went to play golf this morning.”
Show also posted a selfie on social media, dressed in sportswear and at a golf course, to reassure fans and dispel the rumours. Many people condemned the netizen for spreading rumours, and it was discovered that the netizen had previously spread similar fake news on multiple occasions.
