Dee Hsu recently admitted that she couldn’t help but feel guilty for the loss of sister Barbie Hsu, seeing that she was the one who suggested the trip to Japan that ended up becoming the actress’ final trip of her life.

The TV personality recently sat down with her “Kangxi Lai Le” co-host Kevin Tsai on her show, “Dee Girls Talk,” where they spoke of her life since the death of her older sister.

Dee revealed that for a long time after Barbie’s passing, her life was almost a blank.

Kevin asked her if she was numbing herself with alcohol. She smiled bitterly and denied it, but admitted that she often drank and chatted with her mother during that period, as that was their way of expressing their longing.

“We had to keep talking about my sister and vent our longing through our conversations,” she said.

When talking about their last family trip, Dee couldn’t hold back her tears as she recalled how she initiated the family trip to the Japanese hot springs. She said that Barbie, who usually doesn’t like to travel, strangely insisted on coming along.

She said that while her mother originally objected due to the cost, the three of them tried their best to persuade her, hoping to create wonderful memories. Little did they know that it would be their last trip together.

“Every time I think of my sister, I feel that if I had listened to my mother and not gone, would this tragedy have been avoided?” she said with a choked voice.

Dee said that although her mother comforted her and told her not to think like that, she still couldn’t hide her self-blame and regret.
