Charmaine Sheh recently revealed that she is interested but has her reservations when it comes to the short form drama trend that is currently popular in mainland China.

The actress, who spoke to the media at the promotional event for her drama “Themis”, said that she might not necessarily film one in the future, but would still like to learn more about it.

“People’s patience seems to be less and less and I am curious to know what this is all about,” she said.

She continued, “I don’t know if I can adapt to that pace, because the production is very fast, the viewing pace is also fast and full of twists and turns. It’s a different way of acting.”

As for whether she’s worried about being replaced by AI dramas, she believes that AI cannot completely replace actors.

“I think it’s a trend, and also a kind of novelty, but it won’t replace actors. Because I don’t know what expression I’ll make the next moment, AI may not be able to achieve that feeling, and I also doubt whether AI can achieve the effect of conveying emotions through the eyes,” she said.
