Satoshi Ohno, the leader of the popular Japanese boy band Arashi, has announced his departure from Starto Entertainment.

In a statement released on 28 February, the singer expressed that he will be leaving the company after Arashi concludes its activities on 31 May.

He especially thanked the staff and related personnel who have been with him since he joined the company under a different name in October 1994, and then expressed, “Most importantly, thank you to the fans who have supported me all this time. I can only thank you all for making it this far. Thank you so much.”

The news did not surprise his long-time fans, as Satoshi had long since given up on the entertainment industry and was enjoying a semi-retired life.

STARTO also released an official statement regarding the departure, and stated, “We sincerely thank the fans and all those involved who have supported him for a long time. We respect Satoshi Ohno’s decision to walk a new path and sincerely thank him for his many public contributions to date. We also ask that you continue to support him.”
