Anthony Chen’s “We Are All Strangers” has been selected to be the opening film of the upcoming 50th Hong Kong International Film Festival.

The movie, which is the final instalment of the Singaporean director’s “Growing Up” trilogy, stars Koh Jia Ler, Andi Lim and Yeo Yann Yann, and revolves around three families from different social classes as they challenge traditional values and exploring the bonds that connect people beyond blood relations.

The two movies from the same trilogy were 2013’s “Ilo Ilo” and 2019’s “Wet Season”. It also premiered in competition at the previous edition of the Berlinale.
