The production company of a rumoured Greg Hsu-starrer has recently denied rumours that the actor’s new movie has been halted due to the Sino-Japanese diplomatic crisis.

As reported on Mingpao, the actor was rumoured last year to be starring in the Taiwanese-Japanese boxing film “Clinch”. He also had been spotted in Japan multiple times in recent months, seemingly preparing for the new film.

According to Japanese media reports, “Clinch” was originally scheduled to begin filming in March, with scenes to be shot in Taiwan. In addition to Greg, Japanese actor Hio Miyazawa is also starring in an important role.

However, just before filming was scheduled to begin, reports surfaced that production had been halted, sparking speculation that the tensions between China and Japan might be the cause.

In response, the Taiwanese production company involved in “Clinch” vehemently denied the rumours and responded, “The company representing the lead actor, Greg Hsu, and our company were not satisfied with the script. We requested revisions from the Japanese side, but ultimately it did not meet our standards, so we decided to suspend the project.”

“This has nothing to do with the Sino-Japanese conflict,” they added.
