Taiwanese content creators Goodnight Chicken and Anow are set to be released from Cambodian prison in 40 days.
The two influencers, who have been serving their prison sentences in Cambodia for nearly two years, will be deported back to their home country in accordance with the law following the completion of their prison sentences.
Their official Facebook fan page also posted on 31 December 2025, telling the public, “2025 is coming to an end, and we can finally say: It’s almost here.”
“All those who have persevered and waited are paving the way for next year. See you next year, brothers and sisters. Thank you all for your care and support this year. Having you all has been so warm and empowering. In the new year, I wish everyone peace, health, and all the best.”
Goodnight Chicken, real name Chen Neng-chuan, and Anow, real name Lu Tsu-hsien, made headlines globally in February 2024. The pair claimed they had broken into a scam compound in Sihanoukville, Cambodia, and were subsequently pursued and beaten up. They later posted videos claiming they had been kidnapped and needed help.
The incident alarmed the Cambodian authorities, after which the two were later revealed to have faked the whole incident.
Chen and Lu were sentenced to two years’ imprisonment,, ordered to pay a combined fine of USD 2000, and were banned from entering the country again.
