Chen Xingxu (aka Oliver Chen) couldn’t help but sing praises for his leading lady, Dilraba Dilmurat, whom he worked with in the new series, ‘Love on the Turquoise Land’.
In a recent interview to promote the series, Chen admitted that the Dilraba he came to know in real life is different from the actress he worked with on set.
“She is quite different when she is working than in her personal life. In her personal life, she is a very playful and quirky girl who loves to do abstract things, but when she is working, she has a strong presence and is very serious,” he said.

Asked if they shared any common interests, Chen said that they enjoy recommending snacks to one another.
“I eat those fitness snacks, the kind that are very low-fat and low-calorie, kind of like matcha mochi, but very low-calorie and low-fat. Dilraba also thinks they’re pretty good. She recommended her yogurt curds to me, but I know they’re very sour, so I didn’t dare try them,” he enthused.
He also stated that the actress may seem light and dainty, but that her figure shouldn’t fool anyone.
“She’s very light but also very strong,” he said, referring to a scene where his character carried the actress while doing push-ups.
Premiering on Tencent Video on 22 November, the series is adapted from the novel “An Owl Rising from the Green Soil” by Wei Yu.
