Miriam Yeung has donated HKD 2 million to aid the victims of the Hung Fuk Yuen disaster at her recent concert.

The singer, who kicked off her “Live MY LIVE 2025 Concert” on 29 November at the Hong Kong Coliseum, originally planned it as a six-show musical extravaganza. However, it was transformed into a warm and solemn space of blessing in response to the fire at Hung Fook Yuen in Tai Po.

The concert organiser announced that it had donated the said amount on behalf of Miriam Yeung and her team to Tung Wah Group of Hospitals to support disaster-stricken families.

During the afternoon’s blessing ceremony, all staff members spontaneously donned black attire, reflecting the sombre mood that had permeated Hong Kong in recent days. This respect extended to the stage, as the musicians all changed into black performance outfits.

Miriam’s stage costume was also adjusted overnight, abandoning bright colours for a more subdued look. One of her original red robes was altered by the team overnight, transforming into a black, white, and gold ensemble that shimmered discreetly under the lights.

The concert began at 8.15 pm, with Miriam leading the audience in solidarity with the affected families. She, along with all the staff and audience members, observed a minute of silence to mourn the victims of the fire.

A message of condolence was displayed on the large screen, offering the deepest sympathies to the departed lives and the heroic firefighters who sacrificed their lives, and conveying the message, “Our remembrance will remain forever in our hearts; the starlight gathered here today will become the strength to move forward.”
