Charmaine Sheh couldn’t help but laugh at the notion that she could be the first actress to win TVB’s Best Actress four times.
The actress, who is listed in the top 10 nominees for this year’s TVB Anniversary Awards, is currently one of the favourites to win for her performance in the second season of “The Queen of News”.
When asked about the possibility, Charmaine, who made an appearance at the watch party for the drama, said that the chance to win is hard to predict.
“Everyone puts their heart into playing their roles well. It’s worth it for anyone to win. If you don’t win, it’s still good to be happy. The voting is up to the audience. Campaigning isn’t easy either, because everyone has their own favourites,” she added.
The actress, however, said that she will definitely campaign for her co-star Bosco Wong, who is also nominated in the Best Actor category.
Charmaine is one of the few actresses who have won the title three times. She first won it for “Maiden’s Vow” in 2006, then in 2014 for “Line Walker,” before winning it the third time for the first season of “The Queen of News” in 2023.
At the same time, Charmaine also admitted that she felt reluctant to say goodbye to her character Man Wai Sum.
Asked if she would return if TVB greenlights a third season, the actress said, “I don’t know. If there is a good script, I’d like to do it.”
