Ju Jingyi’s former groupmate, Xu Yanyu has recently come to her defence, after STAR48 (aka Siba Media) accused the singer of spreading a false narrative about her wages.
It all started on 16 December, when the company, which has been butting heads with the former SNH48 singer over her contract, accused Ju of spreading statements within the industry and on related platforms claiming that she ‘only receives extremely low wages, receives no business commission, and is subjected to long-term exploitation.’
“The above content is seriously inconsistent with the facts, easily leads to public misunderstanding, and has a negative impact on our company’s reputation and normal operations,” it stated, adding that the company normally pays Ju Jingyi a fixed monthly income of RMB 250,000 as well as full reimbursement for travel expenses.

Following the statement, former SNH48 member Xu Yanyu took to Weibo to defend the singer, saying that the company couldn’t even provide Ju with electrolytes when she fell ill in 2022, and that Xu herself had to help Ju buy two boxes to be delivered to her home.
“Even such a basic thing, the company couldn’t handle properly. May I ask, is this really how you take care of your own top-earning artiste? Has she complained even once all these years? Has she ever said a single word?” she posted.
Xu then posted a photo of her with Ju and wrote, “No one can do better than her. In all aspects, she has reached the absolute peak of excellence.”
