Liu Yuning recently expressed frustration over rumours of romance between him and his manager which has yet to subside.
In a livestream on 6 September, the singer-actor addressed the rumours, which has resurfaced on Weibo recently after the two were seen wearing matching face masks.
Calling it disgusting, Liu said that the gossip first started in 2019, but the situation didn’t escalate at the time. However, it’s now being brought up again, with the additional rumours of pregnancy.
“My manager, Niu Niu, has been married for over 10 years. Her husband, Qiu Ge, isn’t part of my team, but he’s always taken good care of me,” he said, adding that Niu Niu’s husband would sometimes pick him up and drop him off at airports and take care of his pet dog.
Liu said that the rumour was particularly disgusting to him because of how close he is to the couple.
“After making up this outrageous thing and posting it online, it caused such a heated discussion, and some people actually believed it. How am I supposed to face everybody? Just tell me, how can I live as a human being? It’s absolutely disgusting!” he exclaimed.
Some netizens suggested that he files a lawsuit, but Liu said he was not in a hurry to do so. However, he admitted that he has retained relevant evidence.
“If it’s just a small thing, you spread some rumours about me, or whatever, go crazy with it. Maybe you want to gain benefits from it, or whatever. But what you’re doing now is hurting others. This time, you just wait!” he added.
