A 24-year-old college student from Chongqing has now become viral for resembling the late Barbie Hsu.
The student, who was not named in the media, reportedly opened a social media account in late July, where she had since gained 28,000 followers just for looking like the “Meteor Garden” star.
All of her photos have now received thousands of interests, with one post even receiving over 100,000 likes.
Many commented that the student, whose photos were from her trip to Qinghai, eerily resembles Barbie, with one saying, “They look really similar that she is just simply another Barbie from a parallel universe!”
The sudden popularity had the student posting a response on her account, saying that while she is grateful for the attention, she is just an ordinary student.
“Some moments or angles might look a bit like Barbie, but I really never thought about imitating her. I like her very much and will not exploit her,” she said.
In response to some people questioning whether she had plastic surgery, she responded, “I am very happy with myself, so I will not have plastic surgery. I have never had it before and I will never have it in the future.”
