Following the footsteps of Lelush, Chinese singer Aria Jin (aka Jin Zihan) recently announced that she is retiring from the entertainment industry.
It is noted that rumours of her quitting the industry sparked on 3 April, after netizens noticed that she has cleared her Weibo account from all posts including stage photos and drama promotions.
Her studio account, on the other hand, has not been updated since August 2024, while her last public appearance was at the Hainan Film Festival in December 2024.
On the afternoon of 8 April, she finally confirmed the speculations, saying, “I will return to my own life and I hope everyone can understand my decision.”
Her agency Yuehua Entertainment also shared her statement, and wished her the best for the future.
Aria became popular after joining the idol survival show, “Youth with You Season 2”, but ranked 11th, just short of making her debut with THE9. However, she then joined the group NAME in 2021.
It is noted that Aria has actually started her career even earlier than that, having won the Gold Award for Vocal Group and Dance Group at the 3rd Chinese Art Festival for Children.
