“Parasite” writer Han Jin-Won is set to make his directorial debut with an upcoming drama, “Running Mate”.

As reported on Hankyung, the award-winning screenwriter confirmed that he will be helming a drama project for TVING, which revolves around a model student who participates as a running mate in a student school election to reinvent his image.

A large number of new actors reportedly will be starring in the new drama, including Yoon Hyun-Soo of “Seasons of Blossom”, Lee Jung-Sik of “Tracer”, and Choi Woo-Sung of “My Perfect Roommate”.

Others include Hong Hwa-Yeon, Lee Bong-Joon, Kim Ji-Woo and Ok Jin-Wook.

Aside from winning the Academy Awards for Best Original Screenplay alongside director Bong Joon-Ho in 2019, Han also has worked on “Okja” and “Take Point” as assistant director.
