It’s the Ship Korea to launch its first sailing from Busan
Last June, Malaysia’s Livescape Group partnered with Seoul-based Cruise Lab Co. Ltd. to expand its music festival at sea, It’s the Ship, to South Korea.
Finally, It’s the Ship Korea is all set to launch its first sailing this year, from 28 to 31 August 2020.
The ship will depart from Busan, stopping over in Fukuoka, Japan, before returning to Busan. The vessel of choice for this cruise festival is the Costa neoRomantica cruise ship, which hails from Italy.
With this cruise ship concept being new to the local market, it is set to offer world class performances by international and local artists, as well as host pop-up parties and a variety of side activities.
“We are honoured and ecstatic to announce the maiden sailing for It’s the Ship Korea, following the success of our previous sailings in Singapore and China,” said Iqbal Ameer, Group CEO of Livescape Group, in a press statement.
“We’ve always believed in creating unforgettable immersive experiences for all our shipmates and we’re excited to share this new adventure with our new shipmates from South Korea as well as our returning shipmates.”

It’s the Ship Korea, which is also held in partnership with BEPC Tangent, a South Korean music festival and creative company, is poised to be at the forefront of the latest trend in music festivals in South Korea as it brings the entire cruise music festival experience to a new audience in the country.
Until 2024, It’s the Ship Korea will only be departing from Busan, as the Busan City Hall has signed a five-year business agreement (MOU) with Busan Metropolitan City Hall, Busan Port Authority, and Busan Tourism Corporation, which aims to use the four-day three-night one of a kind experience to revitalise Busan’s cruise tourism industry.
Livescape Group’s first It’s the Ship set out for the open sea in 2014, departing from Singapore with a stop in Langkawi, Malaysia. It has since expanded its reach by adding stops in Thailand, as well. In 2018, It’s the Ship Japan to was introduced, making it the first time that the festival departs from another city aside from Singapore. It’s the Ship China followed suit in 2019. Now in 2020, it adds South Korea to the mix.
