Chin Ka Lok recently revealed that his new movie, “Back to 1941” (working title) is set to begin filming at the end of the year.
The actor-director, who will be helming the film produced by Teddy Chan, said that the project had actually been in development for a whole year before they were finally ready to go into production.
Chin said that making big-budget films is a good thing for the film industry. As a Hong Kong artiste, he should be happy if the films are successful.

“There are many small productions now, but they are all small productions, which is unhealthy for the market. In the 1980s and 1990s, there were different types of productions, which made the world think that Hong Kong was a place for making movies. As Soi Cheang said, this is an industry. We can’t just ignore it if one or two films are successful. There needs to be continuity,” he said.
The actor also confirmed that stars like Jackie Chan, Sammo Hung, and Yuen Biao will also participate in filming.
It was previously revealed that the film will raise funds for the Hong Kong Stunt Performers Association to support stunts performers in need. Other stars who have been confirmed include Louis Koo, Nick Cheung, Charmaine Sheh and Daniel Wu.
The movie reportedly will be set against the backdrop of Hong Kong’s fall to Japanese rule in 1941.
