Charmaine Sheh recently expressed sadness over the passing of Benz Hui, whom she has regarded like her own father.
The actress, who has worked with the veteran TVB star in numerous projects throughout her career, recently spoke about the actor, saying, “He was someone I respected very much. I’ve known him for a long time, and he was becoming like my dad. He was always so dedicated to filming, and created such a memorable character. He was our happy pill.”
Charmaine stated that Benz was always cracking jokes on set and made everybody happy when they were all exhausted from work.
“Although he’s gone now, we should inherit his positive and optimistic character. Although it’s very sad, we must keep moving forward, because I know he always encouraged us to live happily, just as he was every day. So, Dad, although I miss you dearly, I won’t cry anymore. I will miss you, and I will always be happy, and I’ll take care of your family,” she expressed.
When asked what the two talked about the last time she saw him at the hospital, Charmaine responded, “They were all intimate words.”
Benz passed away from multiple organ failure due to cancer on 28 October. He was 76.
