Yumiko Cheng has recently clarified that she has not welcomed a second child more than ten years after giving birth to her only daughter Avery.
The whole misunderstanding sparked after the singer shared a photo of her and Avery with a baby on 27 October, writing, “The family has a new member.”
After many posted congratulatory remarks to her, including fellow celebrity friends like Kay Tse and Jeana Ho, Yumiko posted another photo of her and Avery with the baby, but this time she included the baby’s mum as well.
She posted, “There seems to be a misunderstanding. This is the child of our nanny. She has been with us for 11 years, ever since Avery was born, and I have long considered her a member of our family.”
“Since the baby arrived, Avery has been like a big sister, showing such great care for others. I also sincerely wish Maymay all the best, and I truly hope this new path leads her to a happy life. And one last thing, is there any way the maternity leave could end a bit sooner?” she added light heartedly.
