Luo Zheng recently announced that he will be using his livestream earnings to make underprivileged kids happy.
In a statement that he shared online on 1 August, the actor revealed that he had been thinking hard about the rewards he received from his online interaction with fans, saying that he knew he couldn’t accept the money for himself as it was not hard-earned.
“Because I heard that each gift carries a certain amount of weight in the livestream’s promotion, we discussed it for a long time and still wanted more opportunities to be seen, so we ultimately didn’t disable the gift function. I thought many times about just donating it all. But I’m so conflicted about how to donate and to whom! I really want to do something more meaningful!” he said.
After much discussion with his agent, Luo, who hailed from Guizhou, said that as a child who came from the mountains, the first thing that came to his mind was the children living there.
“So, I’ve decided to use this money to bring some children from underprivileged families in the mountains to Beijing, so they can visit Tiananmen Square and experience a dream summer vacation. That’s just so amazing! So amazing! So amazing!!!” he exclaimed.
Luo also stated that he will make public a full financial breakdown of how every cent of the livestream gift earnings is used.
“Once again, thank you all for your support and love,” he added.
