Ella Yam, daughter of Hong Kong actor Simon Yam and supermodel Qi Qi, has notched up another milestone to add to her list of achievements. The 21-year-old recently graduated from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) with first-class honours.
Ella took to social media on 22 July to share photos from her graduation day, with her parents standing proudly beside her.
Marking the occasion, she wrote: “First class honours graduate!! So grateful for this journey. Since day one I’ve always loved learning and graduating from my dream school has been an incredible experience.”
She added, “as i’ve always said, knowledge is everything!! it makes you push yourself, and it’s not easy but it’s so worth it, because continuous learning is one of the beauties of life. happy to graduate with the ones i love most, more life.”
Proud mum Qi Qi reposted the same photos on her own Instagram, writing in the comments: “Congrats on first class honours and winner of the best dissertation my love. So so so proud of you.”
Beyond her academic achievements, Ella has long been in the spotlight for her striking resemblance to her parents, both in looks and figure. She began modelling in her teenage years and has since built a solid career, landing magazine covers and brand collaborations along the way.
It’s perhaps fitting, then, that the purple gown she wore to her graduation is a beautiful one that she designed it herself, as she revealed in the same post.
