Joel Chan recently admitted that the worst thing that happened to him back when he was dating heiress Florinda Ho was the breakdown of his friendship with Christine Ng.

In a recent interview with Toby Leung on “SpotiTalk,” the TVB actor, whose friends fell out with him after he left wife Ponny Yeung to be with the daughter of the late casino tycoon Stanley Ho, admitted that he understood why everybody was angry at him.

“I was the one who had done wrong, so there was nothing I could do about it. All I could do was work on myself. I always say that if you can’t change how others feel, you can only change yourself,” he said.

However, he admitted that the hardest part of losing his friends was losing actress Christine Ng, whom he regarded as an older sister.

“Of course I cried. There were countless nights when I wished I could make things right with her. There was a time when I was very close to this older sister of mine. Losing her friendship was heartbreaking. But that’s how unpredictable fate can be. Later, we bumped into each other at the airport and made up,” he said.

It is noted that the two reconciled five years after they parted ways, when they had a chance encounter in Japan.

Joel revealed that he contacted Christine to arrange a meal, and was surprised when the actress readily agreed.
