Sammi Cheng recently apologise following the announcement that her “You & Mi Sammi Cheng Concert” has been postponed indefinitely.
The Cantopop singer, who was supposed to perform at the Kai Tak Stadium from 10 to 12 July, personally explained in a video that she received a notice from her company two days prior regarding the postponement.
She stated that at that time, she and her team were preparing intensively, and she was shocked and disappointed when she suddenly received the notice.
“Receiving this news right before the show was of course not good. I was very disappointed at the time, but the first thing I thought of was what would happen to the fans? What about the audience who bought tickets? Many fans flew here specially, booked air tickets and hotels, and spent a lot of time, effort and money to see Sammi’s concert. At that moment, I was anxious: ‘What should I do?'”
She said she understood the company’s decision and felt that the company had a very difficult and cautious decision to make, and that prioritising “safety” was the right premise.

However, the three-day event will instead be replaced with a one-and-a-half-hour thank-you concert. At the same time, ticket holders can retain their tickets and wait for the rescheduled dates.
“I want to say it again, I am truly sorry, so very sorry. To all the audience members who bought tickets for any of the shows, I apologise for the inconvenience, emotional pain, hurt, financial loss, time, and mental anguish you’ve experienced. I am so sorry that this has happened now. I promise everyone that for these three thank-you events, my team and I will do everything we can to try and make up for some of your losses. I don’t dare expect everyone to understand, but I will do my best to do what I should do. Thank you all!” she added.
Earlier, the concert organiser suddenly announced a postponement, stating that a major component was found to be malfunctioning during the setup and testing process. No replacement part or solution could be found, and based on ensuring safety and meeting the best concert standards, the decision was made to postpone the event.
