Chen Tianxiang’s camp has recently released a long statement denying rumours that the actor was involved in a love triangle with fellow actors He Congrui and Liu Nian.
In a statement released on 29 June, the studio, Beijing Shuyang Cultural Development Co. stated, “We have discovered that some online users and marketing accounts have been spreading false information about the personal life of our artiste, Mr. Chen Tianxiang, on platforms such as Weibo and WeChat. This information includes Mr. Chen Tianxiang’s real name and maliciously fabricates false claims of “romance” and “improper relationships,” accompanied by vague insinuations and misleading topics.”
The company stated that the rumours have attracted a large number of uninformed netizens to view, interpret, and further disseminate the information, and that it has seriously disrupted Chen’s work and personal life.
Stressing that the rumours were nothing more than fabrication, the company stated that Chen has always “adhered to professional ethics and focused on his performing arts career.”
“He has no private relationship beyond the normal social circle with anyone mentioned in the rumours. All insinuations are malicious fabrications, and we express our strong indignation and condemnation of this,” they added.
The company is also demanding for all parties involved in the dissemination of the rumour to delete all false information, and post an apology statement.
“According to relevant laws, the aforementioned acts of spreading rumours and misinformation constitute an infringement of Mr. Chen Tianxiang’s rights to reputation, portrait, and privacy, and also damage our company’s business reputation. We are currently collecting electronic evidence of the infringing content and securing the entire chain of evidence for use in subsequent legal proceedings.”
