Zhang Linghe has been nominated at the Seoul Drama Awards for Best Actor.
The mainland heartthrob received the nomination for his performance in the hit drama, “Pursuit of Jade,” and is the only Chinese male actor to be nominated in the category, among 352 entries from around the world.
In “Pursuit of Jade,” Zhang plays the role of Xie Cheng, who is being rescued by a female butcher named Fan Changyu after he is found heavily injured. In truth he is the Marquis of Wu’an investigating his family tragedy. The two later enter into a marriage of convenience.
Upon its release, the series debuted at number six on Netflix’s Global Top 10 Non-English Shows chart.
Aside from Zhang, actress Zhao Lusi is also nominated in the Best Actress category for her performance in “Love’s Ambition”.
The Seoul Drama Awards, hosted by the Korea Broadcasting Association (KBA) and co-organised by South Korea’s three major broadcasting networks (KBS, MBC and SBS), is one of the most prestigious awards in the Asian television drama industry, second only to the long-established Baeksang Arts Awards in terms of prestige within South Korea.
The awards ceremony will be held in Seoul on 8 October.
