Li Jing couldn’t help but joked that karma was catching up on her, after she was hospitalised due to eating yak meat.
The Taiwanese TV personality recently took to social media to share two photos, one of her riding a white yak, and the other of her in the ER. She captioned it, “Riding yaks in the morning. Eating hot pot with yaks in the evening. Game over.”
Li Jing, also known as Regine Wu, jokingly stated that while she believes in karma, she didn’t expect it to come so quickly. She explained that she was in Xinjiang, riding a white yak by the lake and taking photos in the day. Unexpectedly, she had a “yak hot pot” in the evening as it was arranged by the travel agency.
The adventurous lady said that she couldn’t help but feel a little conflicted, but still tried it since she was already there.
She joked that her decision seemed to have brought “divine retribution” because she suddenly developed a fever of 39 degrees Celsius in the early hours of the morning and was rushed to the emergency room for treatment.
However, she then explained that her trip to the hospital was due to the fact that she ate undercooked meat.
“It’s probably because the boiling point is lower at high altitudes, so the meat needs to be cooked for a longer time. But the waiter said that 10 seconds is the best time to cook it, and as a result… game over.”
