Han Dong recently found himself having to explain that he is not desperately doing livestreams due to lack of work, after a video of him “crying” went viral on social media.
The video has the “Scarlet Heart” actor wiping away tears, explaining that the reason he has been doing livestreams on Douyin was due to the fact that he hasn’t had any acting roles lately.
The video had since been circulated online, sparking trending discussions about the fate of middle-aged actors.
As the video continues to go viral, Han Dong quickly took to social media to clarify that the video was out of context and that his supposed tears was just a lighthearted joke with friends and fans, not a genuine emotional breakdown.
He posted, “It’s been a long time since I’ve been trending, and at first glance it was quite exciting. But upon closer inspection, it felt like the sky had fallen. A joking interaction with friends in the livestream was being circulated like this.”
“For those who didn’t watch the whole thing and don’t know: Don’t actually believe it! He didn’t cry!!! He can’t sing or dance, so what “performance” is he putting on!” he joked, adding the hashtag “Han Dong Crying on Livestream About No Acting Project”.
