CLC’s Kwon Eunbin shocked fans when she announced her retirement on her decade-long entertainment career, sharing the news in a heartfelt note to fans on 16 June.
The 26-year-old addressed the recent speculation around her, saying she felt it was her duty to personally explain her situation “to everyone who has supported me.” Looking back on her nearly ten years in the industry, she expressed gratitude for fans’ undeserved love and support, while admitting the journey wasn’t without its struggles. It is after a long deliberation, she has decided to live a life as a non-celebrity.
She confessed to spending much of her career battling quiet “feelings of emptiness and anxiety” rather than finding real fulfilment in her work, and said she’s now choosing to “live a life as a non-celebrity.” Many of her past relationships, she added, turned out to be little more than “empty shells with no substance.”

Despite the difficult reflection, Eunbin struck a hopeful note about where she stands today, describing her current days as filled with newer and happier emotions than ever before. She asked for understanding from fans, noting she won’t be responding to personal messages going forward, though she’ll cherish only the grateful hearts sent her way.
Before stepping away for good, Eunbin confirmed she’ll honour CLC’s previously scheduled overseas activities, including the group’s farewell shows with her this July.
