Fred Cheng recently announced that he is now no longer with TVB.
The Hong Kong singer-actor shared the news on Instagram with a reel of his many projects with the broadcaster, writing, “24 years. That’s how long I’ve called TVB my home. I walked through those doors right after high school, a wide-eyed kid with more passion than experience. And today, that chapter comes to a close.”
“There were good times – the laughter in the corridors, the friendships that became family, the nights we poured our hearts into stories that touched real people. And there were hard times – the exhaustion, the doubts, the moments I wondered if I was good enough. But through it all, I never stopped being grateful for this journey,” he continued.
Fred thanked all the producers, directors, crew members, and co-stars who taught him and believed in him, as well as the audiences who grew up with him and supported him throughout the years.
“Endings are strange. Part of me feels like I’m leaving home for the first time. But another part of me knows this isn’t a goodbye to storytelling – just a goodbye to this particular stage. I don’t know exactly what comes next. But I’m not afraid. I’m hopeful. Because the same 17-year-old kid still lives somewhere inside me – ready to learn again, to grow again, to find new ways to connect with all of you,” he added.
