The organiser of Cyndi Wang’s recent concert in Shenzhen has recently released a statement, addressing the issue of the minor injury she sustained from a high-powered laser.
The incident occurred on 5 May, when Cyndi, who has been performing around the mainland for her “Sugar High” world tour, screamed in pain after a high-powered laser light on the stage suddenly shone directly on her.
After the footage was released, it sparked outrage among many fans, who flooded the organiser’s Weibo account with messages demanding an apology.

In response to external criticisms, the organiser issued a formal apology statement on the 6th, admitting serious oversights in equipment maintenance and risk assessment.
They explained that the continuous rainfall in Shenzhen that night caused extreme weather conditions that led to a malfunction in the stage laser signal lines, resulting in signal loss of control. The staff on site failed to shut down the equipment in time, which caused the accident.
The company stated that to prevent similar safety incidents from recurring, they will conduct a comprehensive inspection of all equipment and thoroughly overhaul stage wiring, enhance its emergency response capabilities, including extreme weather contingency plans, to prevent such incidents from happening again.
