Zhang Linghe’s camp has recently released a statement reminding fans to be rational in their pursuit of their favourite celebrities, following a recent incident involving the actor.
The actor, who is starring in the new series, “Pursuit of Jade,” found himself surrounded by fans and paparazzi on his way to a high-speed rail station recently, after his schedule was reportedly leaked on social media.
Despite having bodyguards with him, the situation was chaotic, as Zhang was unable to move for a time. It was reported that a woman was even seen physically blocking his van, and that his vehicle was only able to move forward after she was being escorted away by three security guards.
Following the incident, Zhang Linghe’s studio issued a formal statement 5 April, strongly condemning the illegal behaviour. It stated that the so-called fans disregarded public order, surrounded and photographed the actor at close range, and maliciously blocked his path, causing chaos and affecting the normal passage and safety of travellers.
The studio emphasised that such behaviour posed a threat to Zhang’s personal safety and created serious hidden dangers and impacts on public order. The company expressed “extreme indignation” and strongly condemned the illegal actions, adding that they will reserve the right to pursue legal responsibility.
Zhang Linghe had since forwarded the studio’s statement, and added, “Please abide by public order and keep your true support in a safe place. I really do not want to meet with everyone in this way in a private setting. Thank you.”
