Esther Yu recently revealed that she would love to film in Malaysia, especially after having seen the Kuala Lumpur landscape as she arrived in the country for the first time.
The singer-actress, who attended the Malaysian leg of the “iQiyi Starship Project 2026” event as the streaming giant’s international ambassador, was asked if she would say yes to filming a drama or a variety show in the country, to which she readily responded, “I’d like to try acting in a trendy urban drama; the buildings and skyscrapers in Malaysia are so beautiful!”
As for variety shows, she said, “Comedy variety shows are fine too, as are travel shows and food programmes, because Malaysia has so many great places to visit.”
When the host suggested she become a Malaysian tourism ambassador, Esther, who also said that she planned to eat all Malaysian food to her heart’s content that night, laughed and replied, “Sure, you can talk to them for me!”
At the end of the event, the actress expressed her gratitude to all fans, saying, “Thank you to all the Malaysian fans for your continued support. I will bring you more great works in the future and will find opportunities to come back and meet everyone.”
She then added, “Jangan lupa saya!” (Don’t forget me).
