Following Ruby Rose’s allegation of sexual assault against Katy Perry, it was revealed that a police investigation is now underway in Australia.
In a statement released to the media, Victoria Police stated that the Melbourne sexual offenses and child abuse investigation team, known as SOCIT, will be investigating an alleged historical sexual assault that occurred in the city.
It is noted that Ruby Rose previously claimed that Katy Perry sexually assaulted her while they were at the Spice Market night club in Melbourne nearly 20 years ago.
“Police have been told the incident occurred at a licensed premises in Melbourne’s CBD. As the investigation remains ongoing, it would be inappropriate to comment further at this stage,” the rep stated.
It was on 12 April that Rose made the allegation via Threads, with Katy Perry’s team denying it and saying that the claim was not only categorically false, but are dangerous reckless lies.
“Ms. Rose has a well-documented history of making serious public allegations on social media against various individuals, claims that have repeatedly been denied by those named,” Katy Perry’s rep stated.
