Malaysian international artist JessC, recipient of the “Best Asian Pop” award at the InterContinental Music Awards (ICMA, USA), has marked another milestone on the global music stage. Her multilingual works continue to gain recognition internationally, with her latest achievements shared at the “Raya Open House × ICMA & LIT Music Awards Celebration” press conference, held on 21 April in Shah Alam, Malaysia.
Known as the “US-Asia Healing Pop Queen,” her music is currently being played across multiple regions, including China, the United States, Europe, Indonesia, and Australia, and has entered radio charts in both China and Indonesia. International music platform Rolling Stone (Australia & UK editions) has also named her as one of its “New Artists to Watch.”
Multilingual Wins Mark Cross-Cultural Breakthrough
At the LIT Music Awards, JessC won across three languages with four works, becoming the first artist to receive international recognition with works in three languages.
Gold Winner
English: “One Chance” (also awarded “Best New Artist”)
Platinum Winner
Malay: “Mari Menari Raya” & “Expose”
Mandarin: “My Style”
“My Style” has earned her the ICMA “Best Asian Pop” title. JessC expresses her gratitude to media and listeners from over 30 countries for their continued support.

Raya Music Finds a Global Audience
JessC has made a concerted effort to bring Malaysian Raya-themed music to international platforms. “Mari Menari Raya” received a Platinum award at the LIT Music Awards and is regarded as the first Raya-themed song to win at an international music competition. “Satu Suara Raya” was previously shortlisted as a finalist in the ICMA Asian Pop category and was invited to participate in a short film festival in Japan.
Both works have been broadcast on radio stations in the United Kingdom, Spain, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, and South America. “When listeners from different countries embrace Raya songs, I feel deeply moved. It makes me believe even more that music can transcend culture and borders,” said JessC.
Celebration Event Draws Strong Turnout
The “Raya Open House × ICMA & LIT Music Awards Celebration,” held on 21 April at Symphony Performing Arts Centre in Shah Alam, attracted more than 300 media representatives and fans.
The event featured performances by local artists including Kelly Azman, Syafiq Ikhwan, Fareez Hazwan Fauzi, and Zaki Yamani. JessC also performed “Satu Suara Raya” and “Mari Menari Raya” live, with the latter’s music video surpassing 4.6 million views on YouTube.

Looking Ahead: Spreading Culture and Healing Through Music
Beyond music, JessC is a competitive athlete, having won 12 gold and 5 silver medals in wushu competitions across China and Hong Kong, and 20 gold and 8 silver medals in table tennis competitions in Australia.
Looking ahead, JessC shared that she will continue to promote music that integrates cultural elements, bringing Malaysia’s unique identity to the international stage while conveying messages of healing and positivity through her music.
“I hope to bring the sound of Malaysia to every corner of the world,” she enthused.
